Paranormal Experience: "About a year ago I was in my house with a friend and my parents were on holiday. We were watching telly and for some reason I felt I had to check the back door. There was this bright light there and it was so bright it hurt my eyes. Then, it just shot off. We were freaking out. The television switched itself off and then a cup in the kitchen started swaying and wouldn't stop. My dog was hiding under the table and we had so much adrenaline flowing and were so scared that we left the house and took her for a walk. When we got back all my mum's cooking knives were laid out on the floor. That was it, I went over to my friend's house and stayed there until my parents got back."

Misc.: Owns over 24 rare guitars. He is a vegan and an animal liberationist. Hates being in large crowds. Sleeps with a stuffed bunny named Doola. Had two eyebrow rings, but one got ripped out on a chair, and he just took the other out. Likes to sleep, paint, draw, sculpt, and spend time with Sweep. Once took a microphone and dipped it into a glass of beer, then shoved it in his mouth. Said he's read a book called, "Every Thing In This Book Is A Lie But That's Exactly How Things Are." When he was little he had an imaginary friend named Robin. He'd throw fits if his family didn't set a place for him at the table, or tried sitting where Robin was. If his dad brought something in for him, and didn't bring one for Robin, he would get mad. Believes in aliens, and is obsessed with the aliens linked to Egypt. At the Santa Monica Pier, Daniel was hit in the head with a bottle, and had to get 3 stitches. He was proud of it. Can play some drums. Played trumpet when he was in grade 5. He was also in boy scouts when he was little. He said he was a "seconder to a sixer." His 'Nobody Knows I'm A Lesbian' shirt was sold at an auction for $1,000 Rode his mountain bike to school. Calls blue M&M's 'lollies.' He shared a room with his brother Heath, and when Ben and Chris would come over they would kick Heath out of the room. Doesn't see himself being in silverchair long. He wants to go to an art school. "I'm really into abstract art of any kind whether it be sculpture or painting. I'm not necessarily good at it, but I just really enjoy doing it." When performing in a foreign country, Daniel will sometimes count to 10, and say a few other words in the language. Said he washes his hair once every two weeks, and does not brush his hair much. He doesn't like the way it leaves his hair smelling like flowers. Hates talking about the beach incident, and doesn't like talking about his problems. Can spit in the air, and catch in it back in his mouth... back where it belongs. Did all the artwork in the albums, and the album concepts. More proud of 'Emotion Sickness' than any other song he has ever written. During concerts, he likes to hump his amp, kick over microphone stands, give his microphone blow jobs, and get the crowd to sing "We are the youth" during 'Anthem For The Year 2000.' He also talks about bisexuality, trisexuality, Satan, Jesus, gay sex, kissing, and many other things. He usually doesn't know what he is talking about. When asked what the weirdest thing he has ever been asked, Daniel said, "A guy asked me to marry him. He was good looking, but I was like, 'I don't think so.'" Has an animal liberation tattoo on his ankle. It is an eagle with animal liberation written around it. His favourite drinks are Orange Juice, V8, and Tea. His favourite foods are Apples and his soup. Used to wear braces. "I used to get called Jasper, because everyone thought I looked like Casper the ghost!" When asked who he would least like to see naked, he answered, "My grandparents!" When asked if he was stranded on a desert island without food, which member of silverchair would he choose to eat first, he answered, "Probably Chris... I'd be worried about getting salmonella poisoning from Ben, because he's so grotty!" "'Cicada', off our first album. I hate that song with a passion. I can't even listen to it these days." Has asthma and a stomach ulcer. When asked how he would like to die, he answered, "Suddenly. I've got a terrible phobia about drowning. I hate boats and if I'm on a plane, I always imagine that it's gonna crash into the water." Wore a grey and pink dress on stage once, and it got torn off. He finished the rest of the song in his boxers. For a while, he was afraid to eat in a restaurant, or have someone cook for him, because he was afraid the food was poisoned. He was also afraid his drinks were poisoned. Used to be afraid of eating cereal, because he thought the sharp edges would rip his insides. When asked who she would call for advice, Morgan Lander (Kittie) said, "Daniel Johns".
