silverchair

The dancers on the cover of Neon Ballroom are both holding daggers.

One day the boys were really bored in school. They decided to request some songs on the radio when they got home. They were talking to one of their friends about how they didn't like Nirvana much so the friend told them to listen to "Sliver" and they also wanted to request "Berlin Chair" by You Am I. Daniel told Chris to write down sliverchair to abbreviate it, and Chris misspelled it to say silverchair.

Daniel met Ben "in fourth grade. I was just about nine. We just, one day, sat next to each other and started talking and shit, and that's what happened. But Ben and Chris knew each other from kindergarten. They go a long way back. They were pretty good friends. Me and Ben started a band first, just playing in the garage."

Surf boards they use - "I ride a 6-foot-3 and Ben rides Malibu. We used to ride lids [boogie boards] but now we're full-on into surfing." -Daniel

"The Door" was originally called, "The Poxy Song"

Chris said it took 9 days to record 'Frogstomp'

How they got the name 'Frogstomp' - "I was at a guy from our record company's house one night and I was looking through his CDs because he's got a really good collection. I found this '60s pop collection record and I was just going [laughs], "Why do you have this?" I looked at the back and there was this song that some guy did called frogstomp and I said, "That's a pretty good name." [laughs] I just rang up Ben and Chris and we just thought it was really funny so we used it for the album." -Daniel

The members of Kittie named 'Neon Ballroom' one of the best albums of '99.

Kittie started out playing silverchair and Nirvana covers.
